The Bruce Mines and District Chamber of Commerce organizes the following initiatives and events:
Citizen of the Year - since 1985 the Chamber of Commerce has honoured as Citizen of the Year those individuals who have worked for the betterment of the community. These honoured citizens have included community volunteers, municipal councillors and mayors, neighbours helping neighbours and so many more. For nominations of potential candidates email Larry Peterson.
For more information follow the Citizen of the Year link.
Trade Fair - is a partnership between the Chamber and Algoma District Services Administration Board giving local businesses the opportunity to network with each other and the different Government Agencies that are present.
French Fry Committee - the main role of this committee is to raise funds for the Chamber while supporting and participating in local events. If you wish to join this committe and take part in some local events, please contact Larry Peterson.
Brochure - our brochure is updated annually and contains a list of local businesses, services and organizations plus a map of local roads and lakes with fish types.
The brochure is distributed both at Tourist Information Booths and locally. Entry in the brochure is free for all chamber members. For further information, or, if you'd like to volunteer your services, please contact Mike Peever.
Website - we hope to increase the number of people who use our site to get tourism and local business information. We hope that our site will not only make it easier for visitors to contact local businesses and attractions in order to book accommodations, meals and activities but also for potential residents to find information regarding housing, health care, municipal services and education opportunities in the area.
More and more people are taking the time to research vacations or find their new home on the Internet before visiting in person. This gives the businesses and residents of Bruce Mines an opportunity to provide a real live view of what Bruce Mines and area has to offer visitors and future residents.
Creating a contact list and making the entire experience easy for vacationers and potential residents to find what they are looking for will increases the odds of Bruce Mines being the first choice of where to stay.
